Shrub, 0.3-1(-2) m high, leaf size and shape extremely variable. Fl. green & yellow & red, Jan or Apr to May or Aug to Oct. Yellow sand. Undulating plains, granite ridges and rocks.
Scientific Description
Shrub, spines absent; branchlets smooth, without distinct raised glands, +/- cylindrical in cross-section, glabrous. Leaves alternate, simple, 4-6 mm long, 0.5-1 mm wide, flat, the margins revolute, smooth, without distinct raised glands, glabrous. Flowers terminal. solitary; pedicels 0.5-1 mm long; calyx present, 4-6 mm long, smooth, without distinct raised glands, glabrous except for a ciliate marginal fringe, the hairs stellate (star-shaped); corolla red, yellow or green, petals five, connate, glabrous; stamens twice as many as petals, 13-15 mm long, smooth, hairy, without an appendage; style 14-16 mm long, hairy. Flowers in January, April, May, August, September and October. Occurs in the Eremaean and South-West Botanical Province, in the Coolgardie, Avon Wheatbelt, Mallee and Esperance IBRA region(s).
