Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s flora taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not currently being reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or the census. The project team is now conducting testing of the migrated data, and a further update will be provided by the end of the financial year (1 July). Scientific Description

Tree, spines absent; branchlets smooth, without distinct raised glands, +/- cylindrical in cross-section, covered in hairs or scales, the hairs stellate (star-shaped). Leaves alternate, simple, 55-115 mm long, 24-50 mm wide, flat, the margins flat, smooth, without distinct raised glands, glabrous; stipular excrescences absent. Flowers in axillary, loose clusters (cymes or panicles) or in terminal, loose clusters (cymes or panicles); calyx present, 0.5-1.5 mm long, smooth, without distinct raised glands, glabrous; corolla white or cream, petals five, 2-2.5 mm long, valvate (not overlapping), free, glabrous; stamens the same number as petals. Flowers in September, October and November. Occurs in the Northern Botanical Province, in the Pilbara IBRA region(s).
