Upright, spreading shrub, 0.3-1.5 m high. Fl. white-cream-yellow, Jun to Nov. Usually on sandy & gravelly soils.
Scientific Description
Shrub, spines absent, +/- cylindrical in cross-section, covered in hairs or scales, the hairs stellate (star-shaped) or peltate (umbrella-like) scales. Leaves alternate, simple, 7-15 mm long, 0.5-1 mm wide, terete, smooth, without distinct raised glands, covered in hairs or scales; stipular excrescences absent. Flowers in terminal, loose clusters (cymes or panicles); pedicels 5-6 mm long; calyx present, 1-1.2 mm long, smooth, without distinct raised glands, covered in hairs or scales; corolla yellow or white or cream, petals five, 5-5.6 mm long, imbricate (overlapping), free, lepidote (with scales); stamens twice as many as petals, 4-4.5 mm long, smooth, glabrous; anthers 1 mm long, without an appendage; style 5.5-6 mm long, glabrous. Flowers in June, July, August, September, October and November. Occurs in the Eremaean and South-West Botanical Province, in the Yalgoo, Murchison, Coolgardie, Avon Wheatbelt, Jarrah Forest, Mallee and Esperance IBRA region(s).
