Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or in the census. We are hoping to be able to reinstate services around December 15; we will provide an update at that time.

The notice period started at 9:00 am on Wednesday, 1 October 2025 +08:00 and will end at 12:00 pm on Monday, 15 December 2025 +08:00.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 1 m high; branchlets hairy, not glaucous. Leaves alternate, 10-25 mm long, hairy, on the abaxial surface, the hairs straight; lamina flat, twice or more divided, pinnately divided, divided to the midrib; lobes 7-15 mm long, 1-1.5 mm wide, the margins revolute, enclosing the lower surface of the leaf blade, forming a groove either side of the midvein. Inflorescences terminal, red or pink; pedicels 10-15 mm long. Perianth 8-15 mm long; tepals fused (at least at base) after flower opens, hairy, glandular-hairy or simple-hairy; ovary hairy, stipitate, the stipe 0.5-1 mm long; pistil 18-22 mm long, red or pink, pollen presenter lateral or oblique, style hairy. Follicles hairy, not viscid, dehiscent, 10-12 mm long. Flowers in January, February, September, October, November or December. Occurs in the Eremaean (ER) Botanical Province(s), in the Coolgardie (COO) IBRA subregion(s). : Conservation code Priority Four (P4).
