Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s flora taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not currently being reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or the census. The project team is now conducting testing of the migrated data, and a further update will be provided by the end of the financial year (1 July). Scientific Description

Shrub, spines absent; branchlets smooth, without distinct raised glands, +/- cylindrical in cross-section, covered in hairs or scales, the hairs stellate (star-shaped). Leaves alternate, compound, 15-20 mm long, with 3-7 leaflets, each 10-14 mm long, 0.5 mm wide, flat, the margins revolute, smooth, without distinct raised glands, covered in hairs or scales, with stellate (star shaped) hairs; stipular excrescences absent. Flowers axillary, solitary; pedicels 2 mm long; calyx present, 3.2-5 mm long, smooth, without distinct raised glands, glabrous; corolla yellow or white or cream, petals four, 9-10 mm long, imbricate (overlapping), free, hairy on the margins only; stamens twice as many as petals, 1.6-2 mm long, smooth, ciliate (with a marginal fringe of hairs); anthers 1.3 mm long, without an appendage. Flowers in August and November. Occurs in the South-West Botanical Province, in the Esperance IBRA region(s). Conservation Code: Priority Two (P2).
