Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s flora taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not currently being reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or the census. Due to the rapidly approaching holiday season and associated agency and facility soft closures, along with the substantial work involved in data mapping, cleaning, and verification, the migration to the new collection management software is not expected to occur before 1 March 2026, when a further update will be provided. Please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 0.7-1.5 m high; branchlets hairy. Leaves petiolate, alternate, 60-120 mm long, 7-15 mm wide, hairy; petiole 10-15 mm long; lamina flat, once divided, pinnately divided, deeply divided or divided to the midrib, teeth distinctly pointing towards the apex, with 8-16 lobes on each side, the margins recurved. Inflorescences silky (with soft, shiny and appressed hairs), yellow; innermost bracts 10-12 mm long, hairy. Perianth 15-18 mm long, hairy, all over, limb apex hirsute (with long, rough and coarse hairs), without awns; pistil 16-25 mm long, curved, style hairy. Follicles hairy, hirsute (with long, rough and coarse hairs), obovate, 9-13 mm long. Flowers in June, July or August. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Avon Wheatbelt (AW), Jarrah Forest (JF), Mallee (MAL) or Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA subregion(s). : Conservation code Priority Four (P4).
