Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or in the census. We are hoping to be able to reinstate services around December 15; we will provide an update at that time.

The notice period started at 9:00 am on Wednesday, 1 October 2025 +08:00 and will end at 12:00 pm on Monday, 15 December 2025 +08:00.

Scientific Description

Stems unribbed. Leaves flat, 20-65 mm long, 8-20 mm wide, Indumentum absent (leaves glabrous); margins entire. Bracteoles present, 6-10 mm long, glabrous. Pedicel pedicellate, Pedicel length the pedicels 5-12 mm long, glabrous. Calyx lobes present, Calyx length 6-8.5 mm long, glabrous. Corolla yellow or orange, 11-15 mm long, without auricles, not spurred, hairy on the outside, with sparse, simple hairs, hairy on the inside; central lobes 5-8 mm long, with wings; outer lobes 6-9.5 mm long, wing present on both sides and clearly unequal, 1.8-2.5 mm wide on the narrower side, 3 mm wide on the broader side. Anthers free. Ovary superior, not gibbose; style 3.2-5 mm long, glabrous; indusium single, hairy; ovules more than two. Occurs in the Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA Region(s), of the South West (SW) Botanical Province.
