Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or in the census. We are hoping to be able to reinstate services around December 15; we will provide an update at that time.

The notice period started at 9:00 am on Wednesday, 1 October 2025 +08:00 and will end at 12:00 pm on Monday, 15 December 2025 +08:00.

Scientific Description

Herb or shrub, with glabrous stems. Leaves 90-150 mm long, 40-65 mm wide, not lobed; margins entire; hairs and scales absent (leaves quite glabrous); stipules present and persistent to older leaves. Perianth of one whorl only (the visible whorl is a calyx, sometimes petaloid). Pedicel absent (flower sessile), 1-1.5 mm long; glabrous or indumentum present, with stellate hairs present, with scales absent. Epicalyx (extra segments or 'bracteoles' immediately below the calyx) absent. Calyx green, 2-3 mm long, Sessile glands absent, simple hairs (without tubercle bases) absent, stellate hairs absent, tubercle-based simple hairs absent, gland-tipped hairs absent, scales absent. Stamens many. Flowering time April or May. Distribution Botanical Province Northern, IBRA Bioregion Victoria Bonaparte. Conservation Code Priority One (P1).
