Scientific Description

Shrubs, 0.5-1.5 m high; branchlets glabrous or hairy, not glaucous. Leaves alternate, 15-25 mm long, glabrous; lamina flat, once divided or twice or more divided, pinnately divided or tripartitely divided, divided to the midrib; lobes 5-15 mm long, 0.5-1 mm wide, the margins revolute, enclosing the lower surface of the leaf blade, forming a groove either side of the midvein. Inflorescences axillary, red; pedicels (4-)4.5-5 mm long. Perianth 10-12 mm long; tepals some joined and some free after flower opens, hairy, simple-hairy; ovary glabrous, stipitate, the stipe 2-3 mm long; pistil 24-26 mm long, red, pollen presenter oblique, style glabrous. Follicles glabrous, not viscid, dehiscent, 13-15 mm long. Flowers in June, July, August, September, October or November. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Geraldton Sandplains (GS) or Swan Coastal Plain (SWA) IBRA subregion(s). : Conservation code Priority One (P1).
