Tree or (mallee, mallet), 4-20 m high, bark rough, flaky, dark grey to black on lower parts, smooth grey above. Fl. white, Jul to Aug or Oct to Dec. Clay, sandy clay, gravel, laterite. Salty flats, near salt lakes, seasonally waterlogged areas, rises.
