Tussock-forming perennial, grass-like or herb, 0.15-1.6 m high, spikelet closely flowered, often plump, lemma shiny, 9-nerved. Fl. green-purple, Dec or Jan to Feb or Apr to Aug. Sandstone, laterite, limestone. Rocky & gravelly screes & hillslopes, outcrops, gorges.
