Tussock-forming perennial, grass-like or herb, 0.3-1 m high, panicle spiciform, lemma bi-textured with 3 deep, dissimilar lobes. Fl. green, Jan to Oct. Red sand, gravel, clay. Sandhills, sandplains, near water, rocky outcrops.
