Resinous tussock-forming perennial, grass-like or herb, 0.3-2.5 m high, panicle large, racemose, with usually crowded spikelets, lemma minutely lobed, mostly glabrous. Fl. green-purple/red, Jan to May. White to pink sand, sandstone. Coastal beach and dunes, rocky sandstone hills.
