Erect to spreading, woody perennial, herb, 0.2-0.5 m high. Fl. blue/purple, Jul to Nov. Sandy or clayey soils, lateritic gravel. Laterite breakaways, flats, river banks.
Scientific Description
Stems ribbed. Leaves flat, 15-60 mm long, 5-13 mm wide, Indumentum absent (leaves glabrous); margins toothed. Bracteoles present, 4-5 mm long, hairy, with simple hairs. Pedicel pedicellate, Pedicel length the pedicels 2-10 mm long, Indumentum present, Hair type with simple hairs. Calyx lobes present, Calyx length 0.5-0.8 mm long, hairy, with dense, simple hairs. Corolla blue or purple, 9-16 mm long, auriculate, not spurred, hairy on the outside, with dense, simple hairs, glabrous on the inside; central lobes 7-10 mm long, with wings; outer lobes 9-14 mm long, wing present on both sides and clearly unequal, 0.5-1 mm wide on the narrower side, 2.5-2.8 mm wide on the broader side. Anthers connate. Ovary inferior, gibbous; style 5-5.5 mm long, glabrous; indusium single, glabrous; ovules one or two. Flowers in July, August, September, October and November. Occurs in the Geraldton Sandplains (GS), Swan Coastal Plain (SWA), Avon Wheatbelt (AW) and Jarrah Forest (JF) IBRA Region(s), of the South West (SW) Botanical Province.
