Prostrate perennial, herb or shrub, 0.03-0.75 m high, to 0.6 m wide; glabrous on outside of corolla. Fl. blue/blue-purple, Sep to Dec. Sandy soils. Sandplains, river beds.

Scientific Description

Stems ribbed. Leaves flat, 10-14 mm long, 3-7 mm wide, Indumentum absent (leaves glabrous); margins entire. Bracteoles present, 5-10 mm long, glabrous. Pedicel pedicellate, Pedicel length the pedicels 2-3.5 mm long, glabrous. Calyx lobes present, Calyx length 0.5-1 mm long, glabrous. Corolla blue, 9-11 mm long, auriculate, not spurred, glabrous on the outside, glabrous on the inside; central lobes 4-5.5 mm long, with wings; outer lobes 7-8 mm long, wing present on both sides and clearly unequal, 0.4-0.6 mm wide on the narrower side, 1.6-2.5 mm wide on the broader side. Anthers connate. Ovary inferior, not gibbose; style 3-3.5 mm long, glabrous; indusium single, glabrous; ovules one or two. Flowers in September, October, November and December. Occurs in the Avon Wheatbelt (AW), Jarrah Forest (JF) and Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA Region(s), of the South West (SW) Botanical Province.
