Erect perennial, herb, 0.2-0.7 m high. Fl. blue, May or Jul or Sep to Dec or Jan. Loam, sand. Rocky slopes, granite outcrops, sand dunes.

Scientific Description

Stems ribbed. Leaves flat, 15-30 mm long, 7-30 mm wide, Indumentum absent (leaves glabrous) or present, with dense, simple hairs; margins entire or toothed. Bracteoles present, 2-2.5 mm long, glabrous. Pedicel pedicellate, Pedicel length the pedicels 2-3 mm long, Indumentum present, Hair type with dendritic hairs. Calyx lobes absent. Corolla blue, 8-9 mm long, auriculate, not spurred, hairy on the outside, with dense, dendritic hairs, glabrous on the inside; central lobes 3.5-4 mm long, with wings; outer lobes 5-5.5 mm long, wing present on both sides and clearly unequal, 1 mm wide on the narrower side, 1.2 mm wide on the broader side. Anthers connate. Ovary inferior, not gibbose; style 5-5.5 mm long, glabrous; indusium single, glabrous; ovules one or two. Flowers in January, May, June, July, August, September, October, November and December. Occurs in the Mallee (MAL) and Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA Region(s), of the South West (SW) Botanical Province.
