Erect to spreading perennial, herb or shrub, 0.1-0.4 m high. Fl. blue, May or Jul to Nov. Sandy, often gravelly soils. Sandplains, rocky hillsides.

Scientific Description

Stems ribbed. Leaves flat, 7-25 mm long, 0.8-2.5 mm wide, Indumentum absent (leaves glabrous); margins entire. Bracteoles present, 0.5-1 mm long, hairy. Pedicel pedicellate, Pedicel length the pedicels 10-18 mm long, Indumentum present, Hair type with simple hairs. Calyx lobes present, Calyx length 0.3-0.4 mm long, hairy, with sparse, simple hairs. Corolla blue, 9-11 mm long, auriculate, not spurred, hairy on the outside, with dense, simple hairs, glabrous on the inside; central lobes 4.5-7.5 mm long, with wings; outer lobes 7-9 mm long, wing present on both sides and clearly unequal, 0.6-1 mm wide on the narrower side, 1.3-2.3 mm wide on the broader side. Anthers connate. Ovary inferior, gibbous; style 3-5 mm long, glabrous; indusium single, glabrous; ovules one or two. Flowers in May, June, July, August, September, October and November. Occurs in the Avon Wheatbelt (AW), Jarrah Forest (JF), Mallee (MAL) and Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA Region(s), of the South West (SW) Botanical Province.
