Erect shrub, 0.25-1 m high. Fl. blue, Aug to Dec. Red or yellow sand.
Scientific Description
Stems ribbed. Leaves flat, 15-40 mm long, 5-13 mm wide, Indumentum present, with dense, dendritic hairs; margins entire. Bracteoles present, 2-2.5 mm long, hairy, with hairy hairs. Pedicel pedicellate, Pedicel length the pedicels 2-3 mm long, Indumentum present, Hair type with dendritic hairs. Calyx lobes absent. Corolla blue, 9-15 mm long, auriculate, not spurred, hairy on the outside, with dense, dendritic hairs, glabrous on the inside; central lobes 3.3-6 mm long, with wings; outer lobes 5-7 mm long, wing present on both sides and clearly unequal, 0.4-0.5 mm wide on the narrower side, 0.5-1.8 mm wide on the broader side. Anthers connate. Ovary inferior, not gibbose; style 3-4 mm long, glabrous; indusium single, glabrous; ovules one or two. Flowers in August, September, October, November and December. Occurs in the Yalgoo (YAL), Great Victoria Desert (GVD), Coolgardie (COO), Gibson Desert (GD), Geraldton Sandplains (GS), Avon Wheatbelt (AW) and Mallee (MAL) IBRA Region(s), of the Eremaean (E) and South West (SW) Botanical Province.
