Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s flora taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not currently being reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or the census. Due to the rapidly approaching holiday season and associated agency and facility soft closures, along with the substantial work involved in data mapping, cleaning, and verification, the migration to the new collection management software is not expected to occur before 1 March 2026, when a further update will be provided. Erect to ascending perennial, herb, (0.04-)0.1-0.4 m high. Fl. yellow, Jun or Aug to Dec. Sandy soils, rocky clay. Sandplains, granite outcrops.

Scientific Description

Stems unribbed. Leaves flat, 30-65 mm long, 1.2-5 mm wide, Indumentum present, with sparse, simple hairs; margins entire or toothed. Bracteoles absent, glabrous. Pedicel pedicellate, Pedicel length the pedicels 8-25 mm long, Indumentum present, Hair type with glandular hairs. Calyx lobes present, Calyx length 2-3 mm long, hairy, with sparse, glandular hairs. Corolla yellow, 13-20 mm long, auriculate, not spurred, hairy on the outside, with sparse, glandular hairs, glabrous on the inside; central lobes 4.5-10 mm long, with wings; outer lobes 7-12 mm long, wing present on both sides and clearly unequal, 0.7-2.5 mm wide on the narrower side, 1-2.8 mm wide on the broader side. Anthers free. Ovary inferior, not gibbose; style 5-6 mm long, hairy; indusium single, hairy; ovules more than two. Flowers in June, July, August, September, October, November and December. Occurs in the Coolgardie (COO), Jarrah Forest (JF), Mallee (MAL) and Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA Region(s), of the Eremaean (E) and South West (SW) Botanical Province.
