Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s flora taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not currently being reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or the census. The project team is now conducting testing of the migrated data, and a further update will be provided by the end of the financial year (1 July). Erect shrub, 0.35-1.5 m high. Fl. white, Sep to Dec or Jan. Sandy soils. Granite outcrops & hills.

Scientific Description

Stems ribbed. Leaves flat, 10-45 mm long, 5-18 mm wide, Indumentum absent (leaves glabrous); margins entire. Bracteoles present, 3.5-4 mm long, glabrous. Pedicel pedicellate, Pedicel length the pedicels 2-9 mm long, glabrous. Calyx lobes present, Calyx length 4-10 mm long, glabrous. Corolla white, 10-18 mm long, without auricles, not spurred, glabrous on the outside, hairy on the inside; central lobes 4-8 mm long, with wings; outer lobes 4-9 mm long, wings present on both sides, 0.5-1 mm wide. Anthers free. Ovary inferior, not gibbose; style 7-10 mm long, hairy; indusium single, hairy; ovules more than two. Flowers in January, September, October, November and December. Occurs in the Mallee (MAL) and Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA Region(s), of the South West (SW) Botanical Province.
