Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s flora taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not currently being reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or the census. The project team is now conducting testing of the migrated data, and a further update will be provided by the end of the financial year (1 July). Erect perennial, herb, 0.2-0.5 m high. Fl. yellow, Apr or Sep to Nov. Yellow or red sand. Sand dunes, rocky hillsides.

Scientific Description

Stems unribbed. Leaves flat, 5-30 mm long, 1-3 mm wide, Indumentum present, with sparse, glandular hairs; margins entire. Bracteoles absent. Pedicel pedicellate, Pedicel length the pedicels 3.5-5.5 mm long, Indumentum present, Hair type with glandular hairs. Calyx lobes present, Calyx length 1-2.5 mm long, hairy, with sparse, glandular hairs. Corolla yellow, 7-9 mm long, auriculate, not spurred, hairy on the outside, with sparse, glandular hairs, glabrous on the inside; central lobes 2-3 mm long, with wings; outer lobes 3.5-4.5 mm long, wing present on both sides and clearly unequal, 0.2-0.5 mm wide on the narrower side, 0.5-0.8 mm wide on the broader side. Anthers free. Ovary inferior, not gibbose; style 3.5-4 mm long, glabrous; indusium single, hairy; ovules more than two. Flowers in April, September, October and November. Occurs in the Murchison (MUR), Great Victoria Desert (GVD), Coolgardie (COO), Central Ranges (CR) and Gibson Desert (GD) IBRA Region(s), of the Eremaean (E) Botanical Province.
