Tufted perennial, herb, 0.05-0.3 m high. Fl. blue, Jun or Sep to Dec or Jan. Sandy soils, clay. Lateritic ridges, sandplains, hills.
Scientific Description
Stems ribbed. Leaves flat, 15-30 mm long, 2-7 mm wide, Indumentum present, with dense, simple hairs; margins entire. Bracteoles present, 5.5-9 mm long, hairy, with simple hairs. Pedicel pedicellate, Pedicel length the pedicels 13-60 mm long, Indumentum present, Hair type with simple hairs. Calyx lobes present, Calyx length 7.5-8.5 mm long, hairy, with dense, simple hairs. Corolla blue, 14-25 mm long, without auricles, not spurred, hairy on the outside, with dense, simple hairs, glabrous on the inside; central lobes 6-10 mm long, with wings; outer lobes 10-12 mm long, wing present on both sides and clearly unequal, 1-2 mm wide on the narrower side, 1.5-2.7 mm wide on the broader side. Anthers free. Ovary inferior, not gibbose; style 6-11 mm long, hairy; indusium single, hairy; ovules more than two. Flowers in January, June, July, August and September. Occurs in the Coolgardie (COO), Swan Coastal Plain (SWA), Avon Wheatbelt (AW), Jarrah Forest (JF), Mallee (MAL) and Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA Region(s), of the Eremaean (E) and South West (SW) Botanical Province.
