Decumbent to ascending herb, 0.05-0.4(-0.6) m high. Fl. yellow, Apr to Nov. Red sand, clay, loam over limestone. Winter-wet flats, runoffs, roadsides, hill tops.
Scientific Description
Stems unribbed. Leaves flat, 15-70 mm long, 10-20 mm wide, Indumentum present, with sparse, simple hairs; margins lobed. Bracteoles present, 3-3.5 mm long, hairy, with simple hairs. Pedicel pedicellate, Pedicel length the pedicels 12-20 mm long, Indumentum present, Hair type with simple hairs. Calyx lobes present, Calyx length 3.5-6.5 mm long, glabrous. Corolla yellow, 15-20 mm long, without auricles, not spurred, hairy or glabrous on the outside, with sparse, simple hairs, hairy on the inside; central lobes 6-8 mm long, with wings; outer lobes 9-12 mm long, wing present on both sides and clearly unequal, 0.6-2.5 mm wide on the narrower side, 1.8-3 mm wide on the broader side. Anthers free. Ovary inferior, not gibbose; style 7-8 mm long, glabrous; indusium single, hairy; ovules more than two. Flowers in April, May, June, July, August, September, October and November. Occurs in the Pilbara (PIL), Murchison (MUR), Great Victoria Desert (GVD), Coolgardie (COO), Carnarvon (CAR), Hampton (HAM), Central Ranges (CR), Gascoyne (GAS), Nullabar (NUL), Geraldton Sandplains (GS), Avon Wheatbelt (AW) and Mallee (MAL) IBRA Region(s), of the Eremaean (E) and South West (SW) Botanical Province.
