Erect perennial or annual, herb, 0.1-0.3 m high. Fl. blue-purple/white/yellow, Jan or Apr or Jun or Sep or Dec. Clay, mud. Swamps & seasonally wet depressions.

Scientific Description

Stems unribbed. Leaves flat, 30-45 mm long, 1-2 mm wide, Indumentum absent (leaves glabrous); margins entire. Bracteoles absent. Pedicel pedicellate, Pedicel length the pedicels 8-12 mm long, glabrous. Calyx lobes present, Calyx length 1-1.5 mm long, hairy, with sparse, simple hairs. Corolla mauve, 11-12.5 mm long, without auricles, not spurred, hairy on the outside, with sparse, glandular hairs, hairy on the inside; central lobes 1.8-3 mm long, with wings; outer lobes 4.7-6 mm long, wing present on both sides and clearly unequal, 0.5-0.6 mm wide on the narrower side, 0.7-1 mm wide on the broader side. Anthers free. Ovary inferior, not gibbose; style 6.5-7 mm long, hairy; indusium single, hairy; ovules more than two. Flowers in January, February, March, April, June, July, August, September, October, November and December. Occurs in the Little Sandy Desert(LSD), Victoria Bonaparte (VB) and Northern Kimberly (NK) IBRA Region(s), of the Northern (N) and Eremaean (E) Botanical Province.
