Grass-like, erect perennial, herb or shrub, to 0.5 m high. Fl. blue, Nov to Dec. White, grey or yellow sand, sandy gravel.

Scientific Description

Stems ribbed. Leaves flat, 5-10 mm long, 0.4-0.5 mm wide, Indumentum absent (leaves glabrous); margins entire. Bracteoles present, 4-5.5 mm long, glabrous. Pedicel pedicellate, Pedicel length the pedicels 15-18 mm long, glabrous. Calyx lobes present, Calyx length 6-6.5 mm long, glabrous. Corolla blue, 13-20 mm long, without auricles, not spurred, glabrous on the outside, hairy on the inside; central lobes 8-12 mm long, with wings; outer lobes 9-10 mm long, wings present on both sides, 0.1-0.5 mm wide. Anthers free. Ovary inferior, not gibbose; style 9-10 mm long, hairy; indusium single, hairy; ovules more than two. Flowers in November and December. Occurs in the Geraldton Sandplains (GS) and Avon Wheatbelt (AW) IBRA Region(s), of the South West (SW) Botanical Province. Conservation Code: Conservation code Priority Three (P3).
