Erect, spreading shrub, (0.15-)0.3-0.7 m high. Fl. yellow-orange/orange-red, May or Aug to Nov or Jan. Quartzite soils. Rocky hillsides.
Scientific Description
Stems unribbed. Leaves flat, 8-30 mm long, 0.3-0.7 mm wide, Indumentum absent (leaves glabrous); margins entire. Bracteoles absent. Pedicel pedicellate, Pedicel length the pedicels 5-8 mm long, glabrous. Calyx lobes present, Calyx length 7.5-12 mm long, glabrous. Corolla red or orange, 20-38 mm long, without auricles, not spurred, glabrous on the outside, glabrous on the inside; central lobes 9-14 mm long, with wings; outer lobes 9-12 mm long, wing present on both sides and clearly unequal, 0.3-1.3 mm wide on the narrower side, 0.4-2 mm wide on the broader side. Anthers free. Ovary inferior, not gibbose; style 18-23 mm long, hairy; indusium single, hairy; ovules more than two. Flowers in January, May, June, July and August. Occurs in the Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA Region(s), of the South West (SW) Botanical Province. Conservation Code: Conservation code Priority Four (P4).
