Prostrate to ascending perennial, herb or shrub, 0.05-0.3(-0.7) m high. Fl. red-yellow-green-cream-white, Aug to Dec or Jan. White/grey or yellow sand, often over granite or limestone. Sandplains, sand dunes.
Scientific Description
Stems unribbed. Leaves flat, 3-11 mm long, 0.3-0.7 mm wide, Indumentum absent (leaves glabrous), papillate; margins entire. Bracteoles absent. Pedicel pedicellate, Pedicel length the pedicels 3-4 mm long, glabrous. Calyx lobes present, Calyx length 4.5-7 mm long, glabrous. Corolla red or cream, 9-18 mm long, without auricles, not spurred, glabrous on the outside, hairy on the inside, 0.3-0.6 mm wide. Anthers free. Ovary inferior, not gibbose; style 13-14 mm long, glabrous; indusium single, hairy; ovules more than two. Flowers in January, August, September, October, November and December. Occurs in the Geraldton Sandplains (GS), Swan Coastal Plain (SWA), Avon Wheatbelt (AW), Jarrah Forest (JF), Mallee (MAL), Warren (WAR) and Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA Region(s), of the South West (SW) Botanical Province.
