Prostrate perennial, herb, 0.05-0.3 m high, to 1 m wide. Fl. blue-purple, May to Dec or Jan. White or yellow sand, often over laterite. Undulating plains.

Scientific Description

Stems unribbed. Leaves flat, 10-55 mm long, 3-10 mm wide, Indumentum present, with dense, simple hairs; margins entire. Bracteoles present, 3.5-5 mm long, hairy, with simple hairs. Pedicel pedicellate, Pedicel length the pedicels 10-25 mm long, Indumentum present, Hair type with simple hairs. Calyx lobes present, Calyx length 5-11 mm long, hairy, with dense, absent hairs. Corolla blue, 12-22 mm long, without auricles, not spurred, hairy on the outside, with dense, simple hairs, hairy on the inside; central lobes 7-11 mm long, with wings; outer lobes 7-9.5 mm long, wing present on both sides and clearly unequal, 1.2-2.5 mm wide on the narrower side, 1.7-3.5 mm wide on the broader side. Anthers free. Ovary inferior, not gibbose; style 7-7.5 mm long, hairy; indusium single, hairy; ovules one or two. Flowers in January, May, June, July, August, September, October, November and December. Occurs in the Geraldton Sandplains (GS), Swan Coastal Plain (SWA), Avon Wheatbelt (AW), Jarrah Forest (JF) and Mallee (MAL) IBRA Region(s), of the South West (SW) Botanical Province.
