Erect, spreading shrub, 0.3-1.3 m high. Fl. blue-purple, Aug to Dec or Jan. Laterite. Hills, breakaways, road verges.

Scientific Description

Stems unribbed. Leaves flat, 20-60 mm long, 10-34 mm wide, Indumentum present, with sparse, simple hairs; margins entire or toothed. Bracteoles present, 20-25 mm long, hairy, with simple hairs. Pedicel absent (flowers sessile). Calyx lobes present, Calyx length 1-1.4 mm long, hairy, with dense, simple hairs. Corolla blue or purple, 25-46 mm long, without auricles, not spurred, hairy on the outside, with dense, simple hairs, hairy on the inside, 1.5-4.2 mm wide. Anthers free. Ovary inferior, not gibbose; style 13-18 mm long, hairy; indusium single, hairy; ovules one or two. Flowers in January, August, September, October, November and December. Occurs in the Swan Coastal Plain (SWA), Avon Wheatbelt (AW) and Jarrah Forest (JF) IBRA Region(s), of the South West (SW) Botanical Province.
