Caespitose perennial, herb, 0.15-0.5 m high, Leaves tufted, linear to narrowly oblanceolate, 7-32 cm long, 1-5 (-6.5) mm wide, apex acute, margin involute, scabrous, rarely glabrous. Membraneous scale leaves present at base of mature leaves. Scape glandular throughout. Inflorescence paniculate. Fl. white, Sep to Nov. Clayey sand or sandy loam, laterite. Upslope, breakaways. Wandoo or mallee woodland, Allocasuarina shrubland.
