Rosetted perennial, herb, 0.1-0.45 m high, leaves tufted, linear to narrowly oblanceolate, 2-10 cm long, 2.5-6.5 mm wide, apex mucronate, margin hyaline, glabrous. Scape glandular throughout. Inflorescence paniculate. Sand or loamy sand. Hillslopes, swales and plains. Shrubland and scrub.
