Rosetted perennial, herb, 0.25-0.75 m high, Leaves tufted, narrowly oblanceolate, 15-42 cm long, 2-8 mm wide, apex acute, margin involute, glabrous. Membraneous scale leaves present at base of mature leaves. Scape with pilose and glandular hairs. Inflorescence racemose, sometimes paniculate. Fl. pink-purple, Sep to Nov. Sandy soils. Coastal dunes, sandplains. Heath, mallee shrubland, Banksia woodland.
