Rosetted perennial, herb, 0.1-0.5 m high, Leaves broadly linear to narrowly oblanceolate, 1-7 cm long, 1-2.5 mm wide, apex mucronate, margin hyaline, glabrous. Scape hoary. Inflorescence racemose. Fl. yellow/orange, Sep to Nov. Sandy loam over laterite or granite. Rock outcrops, hillslopes, breakaways. Shrubland, open woodland.
