Tufted annual, grass-like or herb (sedge), 0.04-0.15 m high, stamen 1; style flat, 2-branched, style base with very long reflexed hairs; nut biconvex. Fl. green, Nov to Dec or Jan to May. Black sand. Swamps, creek edges, along watercourses.
