Erect, rounded shrub, 1.5-4 m high, long, needle-like leaves, showy terminal globular flower heads. Fl. pink/purple, Aug to Nov. White/yellow/grey sand, clay and gravel or loam and gravel. Ridges, hilltops, sandheaths.
